Lattice QCD on multi- and manycore processors
Today Lattice QCD is one of the big computational challanges. As a brute force solution to QCD it allows to study quark gluon plasma in areas where perturbative methods fail.
We develop and continue to improve the performance of GPU accelerated codes for use on systems like LOEWE-CSC. GPUs allow us to run more and finer simulations within the same computing budget. Additionally they provide the nice feature of running one code on all systems, from the laptop to the supercomputer.
